This year the Opening Ceremonies event will again begin at 4:00 p.m. Plans are underway and will be updated as confirmed. Below are listed events that have been confirmed so far:
4:00 p.m. Dancers and singer
Super Hero Figure
Face painting ???
5:00 p.m. Local Band led by Dean Holtz
Trolley and Wagon Rides
6:00 p.m. Arrival of Santa
6:15 p.m. Lights to go on by Santa
6:45 p.m. Fireworks
At the Maxwell Street Parking lot there will be vendor Philly Cheese, who will be selling food for anyone that is hungry and Tim Horton’s who will be giving away coffee and hot chocolate.
The north parking lot and the lot at the end of Maxwell Street will be closed off to the public. South parking lot will be open.
The lights in the park will be on from Opening Ceremonies, November 23th until January 1st, 2020 at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. each night. New Years Eve the lights will be on until 2 a.m.
Grab a coffee/hot chocolate at the local Tim Horton’s or MacDonald’s and take a walk through Centennial Park. There is the TransAlta Children’s Village for the children to play in, the music and lights under the SPFFA tree at the south end of the park and the many displays to admire. Remember to notice the wooden green trees by each display that shows what company/person is responsible for the sponsoring of the display.
